I'm so thankful for TDF and there $32 or less tickets for shows.

Since I moved here, I've gotten tickets for - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sweet Charity, Sweeney Todd, The Color Purple and Chita Rivera's The Dancer's Life.

Yesterday, I ordered tickets for The Mikado at NY City Center and one of the final performances of Fiddler On The Roof.

So in the next seven days I will spend four evenings in the dark, including the night I'm seeing Savion Glover at the Joyce. There are worse things I could do I guess.

If you want to know who we are,
We are gentlemen of Japan,
On many a vase and jar,
On many a screen and fan....

I love the Mikado. Enjoy!

Read the synopsis of the play before you see it! G&S plays are so convoluted that sometimes you need a bit of background. Once you've seen one G&S, you've pretty much seen them all (plot-wise, that is).

Mikado is my absolute favourite of all the G&S canon. Maybe 'cause I was in it in high school.

Theater Development Fund. It's the organization that runs the TKTS booths, and they offer different shows (sometimes) plus the convenience of purchasing things online for their members.

To be a member you have to meet certain criteria, but I bet you would qualify. http://www.tdf.org/

Ko-Ko: 'Tis Nanki-poo!
Chorus: Hail Nanki-poo!
Ko-Ko: I think he'll do?
Chorus: Yes, yes, he'll do!

Oh, and after you've figured out all the intricacies of the plot, get Anna Russell's album with "Write your own Gilbert and Sullivan musical" on it. (I think it is on her greatest hits, and no, that's not the title; but it's something like that.) You won't be able to stop laughing.

No pictures of moi in flagrante, non, but you can find her grave at www.findagrave.com.

Lausanne Switzerland is built on a hillside so there are relatively few opportunities for parks which in turn become outdoor cruising areas. The cemetery is in the middle of the city and serves the cruising community. I hadn't actually planned on cruising that afternoon, no, really, I was using the cemetery as a short cut, but opportunity presented itself. Afterwards I discovered that the name on the conveniently shaped tomb read Gabrielle Chanel.
